Father's Day

We celebrated our first Father's Day. You can read about it here.

4 month checkup

Dawson got his 4 month checkup at the Doctor's office today. The Dr. told us just what we expected, that Dawson is doing great. We did talk about our two concerns: 1) his constant spitting up and 2) his flattening head.
1) If Dawson didn't spit up, he might be the easiest baby in the world. The Dr. put him on some medicine to counter the acid-reflux causing the spit up. But it's really just a convenience for us (less changing of clothes for all of us) because the spitting up isn't hurting Dawson and he's still growing fine.
2) We've gotta get Dawson more tummy time and get him to sleep on his right side, neither of which he really likes. The flatness should go away in a few years and it's nothing to worry about yet but we've gotta address it.

Dawson is 26 inches, which puts him in the 90th percentile for height and 14.5 lbs, which is the 50th percentile for weight.

Oh yeah, he also got his 4 month shots. While he didn't cry a lot at the time of the shots, he's been fussy all day because of the soreness.

Rolling Over

Ignoring his cries of protest, we've been giving Dawson some extended "tummy time" the past couple weeks. This morning at 6:30, Erin came into the bedroom very excited that the tummy time has paid off; Dawson rolled over from his belly to his back 5 times in a row! He'd been rolling over partway but never all the way over without any help.

Around 9:30 I put him on his belly hoping to see the same thing and all he did was cry in protest. After I picked him up, he screamed for about another half hour. So I guess I'll have to wait to see it for myself...
